Alook into one of Galway’s most delightful shops with something to please and delight everyone. The Collection by Panfili is a little piece of treasure in the Liosbaun Estate. They recently re-launched themselves with a revamp of their upstairs showroom and a new website.
The Collection was established in 1993 as a family-run business specialising in Period Reproduction Furniture and Mirrors. Due to huge public support and demand, the shop expanded its range and relocated to an impressive 3000sq ft. showroom in Liosban business park. Here you will find the largest Italian mirror and overmantle collection in Ireland, plus exquisite chandeliers, lighting and occasional furniture from the Tuscany region. The showroom was designed with the customer in mind and features authentic fireplaces, a winding staircase and nooks and crannies that create a relaxed, informal atmosphere from which to discover our many timeless products. The Collection has built a strong reputation of customer service and quality. Providing a home consultation service, the company advises local customers on the most suitable mirror for their home and will illustrate the various effects that can be achieved through the use of mirrors in a home or business. From large, traditional and highly ornate overmantles , to small minimalistic designs, from gold and silver leaf to contemporary bevelled glass designed-frames, The Collection has a range of mirrors to suit all size requirements and styles.
Marco and Luigia Panfili, the owners of The Collection, are an Italian family with a passion for home furnishings
and Italian design. Marco insists “We aim to provide classic and timeless pieces in order to give our customers exclusivity, but our speciality and passion is mirrors in their many shapes and forms. We buy direct from workshops, cutting out the middleman and ensuring our customer’s get great value for money”. Luigia adds, “Most of our suppliers are small production companies in Tuscany. That allows an input in the design and gives us the facility to create custom made pieces for our Clients.”
The Collection deals with some of the leading decorators and architects in Ireland and supplies products to an impressive range of hotels, restaurants, showhouses, pubs, beauty and hair salons.
Clients include Adare Manor, Lisloughrey Lodge, Galloping Hogans, the G Hotel and The 12 Hotel. Upcoming projects include the Sheraton Hotel in Athlone and a new Italian restaurant in Clarenbridge. Customers lucky enough to live within a 30 mile radius of Galway City can also arrange to have a selection of mirrors brought to their home to help make that final choice.
